Help us fundraise for the Mister C’s Community Defibrillator

Mister C’s has decided to fundraise for a Community Public Access Defibrillator which will be situated outside the shop.

After research and advice from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Mister C’s realise the great benefit this piece of equipment will have for the Selby community. Mark Corbally, Director commented “The defibrillator we have chosen, with the advice of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, is designed to allow minimally trained people to provide lifesaving defibrillation to victims of sudden cardiac arrest. As far as we know and from visiting the Yorkshire Ambulance Service website this will be the first community defibrillator in Selby town centre. We hope our customers and other local businesses will get behind us and help fundraise for this fantastic equipment.”

The defibrillator will be located in a secure cabinet on the outside wall of Mister C’s Micklegate Restaurant & Takeaway which can be accessible 24/7 to anyone in the vicinity who requires it. The cabinet will have a key code lock and the code is accessed by calling 999 which means the device remains secure.

Mister C’s plan to raise the £1800 required by holding weekly raffles in the Fish & Chip restaurant & takeaway. The raffle will be drawn weekly on a Saturday and each week the prize will be a meal for 4 people in the Mister C’s restaurant.

Once the equipment has been installed, Yorkshire Ambulance Service will be holding open training sessions for the local community, residents and businesses where everyone can learn about the equipment and how it works should they ever need to use it. Mister C’s will confirm dates for these events nearer the time.

If you would like to support this project Mister C’s would welcome donations at the Restaurant & Takeaway.
